Ordering Food in McDonalds Restaurant

Dialogue Content

In this dialogue, you will hear a conversation between a male customer and a male shop assistant in a McDonald's restaurant. The customer is ordering sandwiches, burgers and fries. The shop assistant is helping with the order.

Speakers:

Customer (male): Arthur

Shop Assistant (male): Will

Shop Assistant (male): Hi there, welcome to McDonald’s! Dine-in or takeaway today?

Customer (male): Hey, dine-in please. I’m thinking sandwiches, burgers, and definitely fries. Can you tell me what you’ve got?

Shop Assistant: Absolutely. For burgers, we’ve got:

  • Big Mac: two beef patties with our special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions.

  • Quarter Pounder with Cheese: thicker beef patty, cheese, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard. Comes in single or double.

  • Cheeseburger/Double Cheeseburger: classic and smaller than the Quarter Pounder.

  • Bacon options available on most burgers.

For chicken sandwiches:

  • McChicken: crispy chicken patty with lettuce and mayo.

  • Crispy Chicken Sandwich: thicker fillet on a toasted potato bun; available Regular or Spicy.

  • Deluxe versions add lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

We also have Filet-O-Fish if you want something lighter and non-beef.

Fries come in small, medium, or large, and we’ve got sauces like ketchup, BBQ, Sweet & Sour, Ranch, Honey Mustard, and Spicy Buffalo. Would you like a combo meal (sandwich + fries + drink) or à la carte?

Customer: Nice rundown. I’m leaning spicy. Between the Spicy Crispy Chicken and a Big Mac, what’s the main difference in feel?

Shop Assistant: The Spicy Crispy Chicken hits with a chili heat from the spicy sauce and a crunchy chicken fillet—simple, bold, and spicy. The Big Mac is more balanced and saucy with the layered build—less spicy, more classic McDonald’s flavor. If you want spicy and stacked, you could do a Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken for the extra lettuce and tomato.

Customer: Got it. Let’s do one Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken. I also want a burger—maybe the Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Can I add bacon?

Shop Assistant: Absolutely—Quarter Pounder with Cheese Bacon is an option. Single or Double?

Customer: Single is fine.

Shop Assistant: Great. For sides, what size fries would you like? Small, medium, or large?

Customer: Large fries, please.

Shop Assistant: Perfect. Want to make either of those a meal with a drink, or keep everything à la carte?

Customer: I’ll do the Quarter Pounder Bacon as a meal with a medium drink, and keep the Spicy Deluxe and the large fries à la carte.

Shop Assistant: You got it. What drink for the meal? We’ve got Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, iced tea, lemonade, and bottled water.

Customer: Medium Coke.

Shop Assistant: Any sauces for the fries? Ketchup is standard, but I can add BBQ, Sweet & Sour, Ranch, Honey Mustard, or Spicy Buffalo.

Customer: Ketchup and BBQ, please.

Shop Assistant: Sure thing. Any modifications on the sandwiches—extra pickles, no onions, add cheese, extra sauce?

Customer: Extra pickles on the Quarter Pounder, and can I get extra spicy sauce on the Spicy Deluxe?

Shop Assistant: Done—Quarter Pounder with extra pickles, and Spicy Deluxe with extra spicy sauce. Anything else—maybe a Filet-O-Fish or an extra small fries to share?

Customer: I’m good, thanks.

Shop Assistant: Quick recap:

  • Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken, extra spicy sauce (à la carte)

  • Quarter Pounder with Cheese Bacon meal, medium Coke, extra pickles

  • One large fries à la carte

  • Ketchup and BBQ on the side

Customer: That’s correct.

Shop Assistant: Awesome. I’ll ring that up. Your order number will be on the receipt—listen for it at the counter. Anything else I can get you?

Customer: That’s all. Thanks for the help.

Shop Assistant: My pleasure. We’ll have that out for you shortly. Enjoy your meal!
