Ordering Coffee at McDonalds
Dialogue Content
In this English Talk, you will hear a conversation between a female customer and a female receptionist for ordering a cup of coffee in a McDonald's Restaurant.
Speakers:
Receptionist (female): Reema
Customer (female): Alex
Receptionist: Hi there, welcome to McDonald’s! What can I get started for you today?
Customer: Hi! I’m looking for a cup of coffee, but I’m not sure which one to get.
Receptionist: No problem at all. Do you prefer something hot or iced?
Customer: Hot, please.
Receptionist: Great. Here are our main options:
Premium Roast brewed coffee, regular or decaf. Smooth and classic—you can add cream and sugar.
Americano, which is espresso with hot water—bolder and cleaner.
Espresso drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas. Lattes are creamy and smooth, cappuccinos are lighter with more foam, and mochas have chocolate.
We also have flavored lattes: vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, and sugar-free vanilla. If you ever want cold drinks, we do iced coffee, iced lattes, and blended Frappé-style drinks like Caramel or Mocha, but hot works too!
Customer: I like something smooth and a little sweet, not super strong.
Receptionist: Sounds like a vanilla latte would be perfect—mild coffee flavor, creamy, and gently sweet. We can adjust the sweetness, too. Caramel latte is a bit richer, and mocha adds chocolate if you want that.
Customer: Let’s do a vanilla latte, but not too sweet.
Receptionist: You got it. What size—small, medium, or large?
Customer: Medium.
Receptionist: And for milk, would you like whole or nonfat?
Customer: Nonfat, please.
Receptionist: Would you prefer regular vanilla or sugar-free vanilla?
Customer: Sugar-free, please.
Receptionist: Perfect. Light on the syrup?
Customer: Yes, lightly sweet.
Receptionist: Great. Any extra espresso shot for a little more kick?
Customer: No, the standard is fine.
Receptionist: Awesome. So that’s one medium hot vanilla latte, sugar-free, nonfat milk, lightly sweet. Anything else for you today?
Customer: That’s all, thanks.
Receptionist: Wonderful. Name for the order?
Customer: Alex.
Receptionist: Thanks, Alex. Your total will be right up at the register. We’ll call your name when your latte is ready. Have a seat and we’ll have it out in just a couple of minutes!
